Morals

[This post is part of my series on Mike McDermott quotes from the movie Rounders]
“… but as Canada Bill Jones said, ‘it’s immoral to let a sucker keep his money.’ Like they teach you in One L, caveat emptor pal.”

I used to pretty much just give up pots to women or friends at the table. Then, I became the sucker. Not any more.
We all sit down at the poker table to make money. I may check down a pot heads-up against a player I like or respect, but this is a mutual decision between us two players. I won’t play soft anymore.
And for those that may not know, One L is what they call the first year of law school. And caveat emptor is Latin for “let the buyer beware.”
