Superstitions

I am in my usual seat 9 and a tough regular player sits down in seat 8.
We have played together many times. This is twice in as many days that we have sat next to each other.
He has been running bad in these sessions.
Then, seat 3 opens up.
“Well, Sammy, I am going to see if my luck gets any better over there,” he says to me. “And you know what that means.”
“Yeah. I have the same superstition,” I tell him.
There is no rational basis for it, but I have three superstitions.
First, I never change seats once I enter my first pot. For me, it is bad luck to change seats. Table changes are ok. Go figure.
Second, it is bad luck for me to not tip the dealer after winning a pot after the flop. I never tip if I win before the flop. Call me crazy.
And if I even think I forgot to tip the dealer when the next hand is dealt, I will tip again.
My third superstition is I never play the first hand dealt to me when I sit down. Well, unless it is pocket Aces. But other than that, it is bad luck for me to play the first one even if I have to post to play the game.
The poker player that does not have superstitions that I am aware of is Doyle Brunson. Except he claims in his books that he never uses $50 bills because they look too much like $5 bills. Oh, and he never plays A-Q.
